If I am Referee, do I need to do this course?

If you are a new referee that is over 16 years old and are about to start your FA Referees Course, you should complete this Safeguarding Course alongside your online laws of the game learning, before attending the face-to-face sessions.


If you are a new referee that is under 16 years old and are about to start your FA Referees Course, you should complete Safeguarding For All alongside your online laws of the game learning, before attending the face-to-face sessions.


If you are a referee who has recently turned 16, you should complete this Safeguarding Course.


If you are an existing referee and needing to renew your Safeguarding qualification, and have previously completed an FA Safeguarding Children Workshop, you should complete the online re-certification course.


In order to register for 2022/23 season, you must have one of the following safeguarding qualifications that is in-date:


You are under-16:

  • Safeguarding For All
  • Introduction to Safeguarding  

You are over-16:

  • Safeguarding Children Workshop
  • Safeguarding Children Re-certification
  • Safeguarding Children Course 



If you don't know which Safeguarding Children course you have already completed or it's expiry date visit your My Account profile and take a look at the Safeguarding tab.
