Why does this course only have a two-year validity period rather than three-years like the previous Safeguarding Children Workshop?

The Safeguarding environment is one we must be ever vigilant about and is perhaps subject to most change and regular updates as we learn more about best practice in keeping children, young people and vulnerable adults safe. Over the last eight months we have been working a range of stakeholders including Sport England and the CPSU to set out a holistic learning approach to the Safeguarding course portfolio to provide engaging, high-quality mandatory opportunities that are enhanced through:

  • an on-going relationship with coaches and volunteers
  • increased contact points
  • a continual relationship of support and guidance

For the reasons above, along with the change in delivery method, is why we have deceased the validity period.
