Each week of the course has a different theme:
- Week one – Falling in love with the game
- Week two – Learning about football
- Week three – Friendship and football
Week one focuses on helping players fall in love with the game. The role of a coach is to help provide inspirational football opportunities. Players need the freedom to play, the opportunity to stop and score goals and the chance to feel like part of the team.
In week one you have access to two core eLearning modules - Introduction to Disability Football and Respect.
Week two focuses on helping players to become more skilful. You’ll learn what game-based practice means and why it's essential to let players play and explore the importance of effective teamwork, decision-making and anticipation – both on and off the ball. When it comes to helping players develop their skills, coaches will explore top tips to make experiences player-centred.
From week two you will have access to the safeguarding children and introduction to first aid in football eLearning courses too. These courses are broken down into modules, enabling you to save your progress and come back to them as you choose over the next couple of weeks.
Week three focuses on the importance of social interaction in football. Learning how to help players connect with others and feel like they belong we’ll help you to help your players improve all aspects of their communication skills, create friendships and build their confidence.
