My child (under 18) wants to become a referee

If your child wants to qualify as a referee, they must be at least 14 years old, reside in England, and successfully complete the FA Referee Course, and their account linked to a Parent/Guardians FAN. If you haven't already got a FAN, please follow our FAQ here.

In order to link a child's FAN to a Parent/Guardian FAN, please follow the steps outlined below: 

1) Please head to My Account, after which you will see the following with your details: 


2) Please scroll down to add an individual:










3) Once added, your child’s FAN should appear as so:
 
 
4) Add your child's details by selecting "add an individual" and complete their contact information. Make sure to 
provide a unique email address, distinct from any other FAN account.



5) Once added, your child’s FAN will show as unverified:


 
6) In order to access and verify your child’s learning account, please click here to reset your child’s password. Please ensure you use the email address linked to your child’s FA Learning account: 

 
7) After which their Email will show as verified and your child will be able to complete the refereeing course required by following the links below:
