Why is there a delay to the start of FA Level 3 courses in 19/20?

Since its relaunch in 2017, The FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football has been extremely popular, with more than 2,000 learners having started the course - that’s three times the total number from the previous six years.

One of the strengths and benefits of the course is that it provides each coach with three in-situ visits where a tutor will work alongside the coach in their own setting to help bring the learning to life.

We regularly review our courses to make sure they are meeting the needs of the game and the modern developing coach. The review of the redesigned UEFA B has shown that we have a significant number of learners yet to complete the qualification, meaning that we are carrying learners into next season.

With these learners already in the system needing support / further in-situ visits we are having to address the demand on our workforce and the limits of how many learners they can support at any time.

We want to give every learner the support they need and ensure that we do not take on board a new cohort of learners whom we cannot support as effectively as we want to and as the course requires.

For these reasons we’ve agreed to delay the start of new courses until March 2020, allowing us to provide the support to those already in the system so that they complete their qualification.
