A modern coaching workforce requires a modern education pathway; one that is inclusive, flexible, easy to navigate, and fully supportive of all learners.
That is why, in 2014, we initiated a review of our core Coach Education Pathway. The objective was to look at modernising the make-up of our courses - from Level 1 through to Level 5 - as well as our overall approach to learning so that the impact we have on the development of learners at all levels can be improved.
The first two courses to be re-launched as part of this work were The FA Level 1 and 2 in Football courses in August 2016.
The FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football had not been reviewed since 2011 which meant the content was dated. It has now been updated in line with The FA’s Coaching and Learning strategy.
In order to help meet demand for this course, the decision was made to move the coordination and delivery of the course County FAs to support with improving coaching within the grassroots game
